Let’s Antelope
We looooove Stark’s Antelope carpet. It’s chic and exotic, adding just the right splash of animal magnetism to even the most subdued spaces (the gorgeous library above was featured in Traditional Home). Stark’s Antilocarpa rendition is also surprisingly pet- and kid-friendly thanks to a durable weave of polypropylene. But Stark is pricey, way pricey, and not every budget can accommodate such a major investment…even if it is a major statement piece.
This morning, I was browsing trusty old Ballard Designs for wall brackets to display ginger jars when I came across their brand-new hand-tufted wool Antelope Rug.
This thing is bananas and such a steal. The 9×12 size rings in at under $900 and an 8-foot runner is just $176. Such a good deal and a great way to ape that designer look for a whole lot less – and without committing to wall-to-wall wild animal. I’ll always love Stark, but Ballard’s alternative is hard to beat.
