Brass Kitchens, Brass Bathrooms, Brass Fixtures, Oh My!
When faced with the task of what to write about for my first-ever foray into the world of blogging, it seemed quite fitting to select one of the things that served as an inspiration for this new venture and subsequent name – brass. Brass has been enjoying its moment in the sun, so to speak; popping up all over – as accents, hardware, even backsplashes and counter tops. I am always drawn to gold – I love the warmth it lends to a room. Lately, one person that is nailing one of my favorite aesthetics is the brilliant Kelly Wearstler. The green and brass kitchen pictured above (photography by William Abranowicz for Elle Decor) might top my list of dreamiest culinary work spaces. Not that I would even use it to prepare a meal. I would be happy to just bask in the green and gold glow.
I am also very much into brass in the bath. Fixtures, pipes, accents – I love to see that gleaming gold tone. You can take a feminine approach and pair it with calacatta marble or veer towards an edgier, more masculine look and pair it with black paint – preferably lacquered. The overall effect of the latter is very London Town and tres chic in my humblest of opinions.

Brass can be utilized in so many ways; not only in utilitarian and functional spaces. There are so many fixtures, in all different styles to suit whatever you’re after. I love me a nice little objet as well. Here are a just few of my most brass-tastic faves.
